ABOUT NKOWANKOWA CHICKENS
Style-Centered
NKOWANKOWA CHICKENS was established during Lockdown in South Africa to address the fight against food security because most rural areas in South Africa face the triple structural challenges of unemployment, poverty and inequality. This is an unwanted economic legacy of the apartheid state that still haunts us. This is most aptly evident in the crisis of rural underdevelopment, underutilisation and unsustainable use of productive land (including redistributed and state-owned land), the plight of Black smallscale and emerging Farmers across the country. Nkowankowa Chickens aims to improve the quality of life of rural households, enhancing food security through a broader base of rural industrial and agricultural production and exploiting the varied economic potential of each rural district municipality.
